Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, she enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was aspired to become a professional actor since she was aged six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school that offers part-time classes. At the age of ten she was involved and performed the main role in several Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was the year's top earning film, smashing records during the opening day and first weekend. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
